Here are some of our committees, activity groups and special events that we have throughout the year.


Board
The board is made up of a president, administrative vice president (AVP), membership vice president (MVP), secretary, and treasurer. Board meeting are held privately once a month. Everyone has different reasons for wanting to serve on the board. If you would like to be an instrumental part of the leadership of the club, you can express your interest at our annual board elections. Committee chairs are appointed by the board to interested members.


Sunshine Committee
MOMS Club® of Leesburg South is dedicated to families and this committee focuses on family needs. As members welcome new additions to their families, the Sunshine Committee arranges for meals once the mom and new baby come home. This committee can also arrange for help when there is a death/illness in the family.


Service Projects
One of the founding principles of the MOMS Club® of Leesburg South is community service. This committee works with the AVP to execute the projects. Some of the service projects completed over the years have included: School supply drive for the underprivileged of Loudoun County, Chesapeake Bay Watershed Clean-up, stocking stuffers for the Loudoun County Holiday Coalition, March for Babies charity walk, Relay for Life charity walk.


Newsletter and Website Committee
Communicating what is going on in the chapter is an important job. There is usually a five page (or more) newsletter that is sent electronically to our members. The website editor's job is to keep the pages you are looking at as current as possible. In addition to the newsletter, MOMS Club of Leesburg South also utilizes Yahoo chat groups for it's members. The MVP adds new members to this chat group when they join.


All Member Meeting
As a club we stay unified and informed through our monthly meetings. MOMS Club® of Leesburg South, VA meets once a month to discuss club business and news, as well as, provide a time for moms to get to know each other and contribute their support, ideas and suggestions for the club. The Executive board conducts the meeting and special guests and speakers are planned throughout the year. Our monthly meetings are also open to prospective members or those considering joining our club.


Field Trips
Each month the board plans at least one mini field trip; for the calendar. It can be anything from a pumpkin patch to a discovery museum or a local zoo. Members are encouraged to share their ideas and suggestions.


Mommy, Me, Coffee and Tea
At least once a month, we have a ritual of crowding into a local coffee shop for coffee, treats, and socializing. All members with young children or those who's kids are in school for the day are invited to attend.


MOMS Night Out
This is a once monthly activity. We have done everything from dinners out, to pottery painting parties, concerts to a game night. Moms night out is truly a fun time to get in some adult conversation!


Playgroups
Why most moms joined MOMS Club® of Leesburg-S, VA! Yes, we are a moms group, but let's face it; we have a better time when our children are entertained and able to play amongst children their own age.
